March Outfit Highlights

So, as you may have noticed I’ve been incredibly lazy with ANY outfit posts for 2014. (I know I suck!) The reason being I have no free spare time anymore to do shoots as I was lucky enough to grab an Music PR internship in London whilst still working a part time job at weekends! (Yay for me!)

But, despite no outfit posts, what I have been doing is trying to document all my outfits and new clothes I get on my Instagram and taking plenty of snaps on my phone. So I thought a cool feature to do would be a round up of my favourite looks and items I’ve bought from the last few weeks.

This way it takes a little less time for me (which is way more manageable with the little spare time I have) and you guys can still get some fashion inspo! 🙂

So here’s the latest from March!

New Obsession: H&M Parental Advisory Crop Top

Hi all!

I thought I’d start a new kind of post on here called ‘New Obsession’ to feature items of clothing I buy that I can’t stop wearing!

First up I have a black long-sleeved crop top I bought from H&M last week with a ‘Parental Advisory’ sign across the front. It is incredibly versatile and it’s so easy to wear as its stretchy jersey. The long sleeves are great and are one of the main reasons it goes with so many things. It feels so 90’s goth too which I love with that sense of rebellion with the graphic across the front. It add’s a bit of edge to any outfit!

Below is a few shots from this week with just a few ideas of how to wear it, but there are so many more. The styling with Black Milk Clothing’s slicks leggings is my favorite. I kinda wish I had a pair of mega high platform trainers to pair with it! It looks really good with a midi skirt too which instantly opens it up to maxi’s as well. I’ve also tried it with my Missguided leather look pinafore dress and high-waisted bodycon mini skirts. That’s where the longs sleeves come in extra handy as I find with crop tops and mini skirts you can feel a bit exposed! So it’s nice to feel more covered!

Peace out.

January Style Storm

So I’ve been getting a lot of new clothes lately with Christmas and the sales that followed. So I thought it was about time I did some flat lays to start getting some ideas together for future outfits and hopefully inspire you as well!

New clothes are always the perfect way to get me in a creative mood so I hope you like the looks I’ve put together! I’d love to know your thoughts too!

1. Tartan Rules

I LOVE tartan and I’ve been after the perfect item of clothing for ages! This skirt is gorgeous and it’s actually all thanks to my mother and her incredible dress making skills! The inspiration came from a skirt I saw on Nasty Gal but as shipping and price was a little too much my mum did me a huge favour as the fabric cost very little on Ebay!

THe skirt’s split gives it an amazing rock chick vibe as I would pair this outfit with fish net tights. The crop top is from a brand called Mink Pink which you can find in places like Urban Outfitters or ASOS. My friend actually got me this as a secret santa and it is to die for! It combines all my favourite trends; mesh, velvet and studs, and it goes with practically everything!

In terms of accessories I felt this outfit didn’t need a lot so I just added a simple spike choker, bracelet and clutch. With loosing my Jeffery Campbell virginity last week I couldn’t help pairing my Mulder Platform Boots with this to really finish it off.

2. Tye Dye Midi Madness

I don’t think I anticipated how amazing this midi skirt would be when I bought it from Missguided for a tenner! It’s great to have a skirt that makes a day outfit far more interesting even when you can’t be bothered as its so comfy. That’s why I put a day and night outfit option for this one just to demonstrate that it goes with a lot of stuff!

The night flat lay is paired with a cute white crop top I bought from New Look last year, a cute lace Topshop bralet, an amazing real leather biker jacket from River Island I got for £25 from a very generous Ebayer (I feel a pattern following here haha), one of my favourite day/night bags from Primark (I love the tassel and stud detailing! More rock chick edge! :D) and of course some Primark spike jewellery and my Jeffery Campbell’s.

The day outfit could easily go with the biker as well over the top of this sweet H&M jumper I sniped in the sale. It has great ladder detailing down the side so I got it in white as well. The spike necklace and fringe bag go so well with this too and to keep it casual I’ve put some platform H&M boots with a low heel to finish the look off.

I think I’ll be over-wearing this skirt big time winter and summer!

So there you go just three looks for this post but I really enjoy putting flat-lays together as it’s a great way to get you thinking about what does and doesn’t work together. So expect lots more soon!

I’d love to hear any of your thoughts!

Peace out!

Sam 🙂

Mechanical Mermaing Legging – Black Milk

Top – H&M

Strap Crop Top (worn under top) – Missguided

Biker Jacket, Boots & Fedora – H&M

Waterfall Cardigan – Forever 21

Cross Necklace – Old Topshop

Scarf – Old Primark

I thought I’d show how these leggings can be styled up to keep you warm with layers as well as without. I am in love with these leggings. I’ve loved all of Black Milk designs for a long time but could never afford a pair of their wicked leggings but all my friends from home put their money together to get me these for my birthday a few weeks ago. There so versatile, are made with great fabric and are great now its got a lot colder here in the UK! They are a great day to night piece too and go with anything! The Forever 21 cardigan is one of my favorite pieces as well mainly because of the detail at the back – its so sick! Plus I love layering rather than wearing thick jumpers as I get too warm and like to be able to strip off a little by the time I get into work so it’s perfect for that! The waterfall detail looks great under the biker too! The fedora and scarf were an easy combination to put with this too and as you’ve probably noticed those H&M boots are in a lot of my posts, but they go with everything and make any outfit look a little bit cooler 😉

Peace Out!

Side Split Maxi Skirt – Missguided

Top – OldNew Look

Everything else – H&M

I photographed this look last week as I had a massive obsession to style up a grey maxi for my trip to Barcelona to visit my boyfriend (which is where I am now!) Its so comfy and looks so nice with anything really! The weathers perfect for this kind of outfit here as the suns still shining but back home its too cold! Will probably bust this one out a few times! For this reason I thought Summertime Sadness was pretty apt for the title as I wish it was hot back in England! (Thank you Lana Del Ray!)

Peace Out!
